Still life

February 24 we set up 3D objects and shone direct light on them to form a still life with cast shadows and highlights. After the first few minutes, the kids really started to grasp the concept of depth and dimension, direction of light source, and how if affects the 3D objects.

Let there be paint

February 10th Using tempera paints, we put our new found knowledge of organic and geometric shapes into a creative, artistic painting.

On Feb 3rd we talked about the shape collages we made and made sketch books and portfolios.
