Coil pots

March 9th we taught the kids how to make coil pots with clay. This exercise was also new to me, so it was fun to experiment and try new things with the kids as we explored a new artistic medium. I really enjoyed this exercise, as did the kids, and found they were very good at creating coil pots. I look forward to seeing the painted and final products.

Self Portraits

March 2 we took pictures of all the kids and printed half their face on a piece of paper. Their assignment was to draw the other half of their face. We taught them all about how our faces are made on a grid system and by following that grid they could find placement of their facial features, such as eyes, nose, mouth, and ears. I was really impressed with the kids capabilities in this assignment.
